Volunteer, Internship and Work Study Opportunities Available! There are currently opportunities for individuals that want to Volunteer, Intern, or do Work Study with the WTI. For more detailed job descriptions, please see below. We will provide training for all positions; training days will be announced based on the interest we receive for each position. Note: The following positions are not inflexible; in fact, the positions often merge together. The Worcester Tree Initiative will be happy to work with your interests, skills, and availability to create the best fit.

Certified Tree Trainer (54.00 kb)
As part of our mission to facilitate the planting of 30,000 trees in Worcester and surrounding towns the Worcester Tree Initiative plans to train thousands of residents in the proper planting and tree maintenance techniques. To do this, we are developing a pool of trainers who will gain the knowledge and skills to train others.

Assistant Tree Trainer/Planter (25.50 kb)
While Certified Tree Trainers lead the tree training/planting events, they need help to make sure everything runs smoothly. You do not need to lead the training in order to help with the Worcester Tree Initiative’s community and/or school planting events.

Certified Field Worker (54.00 kb)
The Worcester Tree Initiative is committed to the long-term reforestation of the Worcester area’s urban ecology. This means more than simply hosting events, planting and giving away trees; trees require specific care and maintenance after planting. The Worcester Tree Initiative seeks individuals to help develop and maintain a database in which we monitor the health and progress of trees that have been planted.

Event Tabling Outreach (#!FILESIZE!#)
You do not need to get your hands dirty in order to get involved and support the Worcester Tree Initiative! We are currently seeking individuals to represent the organization at community events, such as college open houses, the Canal Festival, and Main South Celebrates.
