Fall 2010 Calendar of Events
Saturday September 11th 8am - 2pm: ERA Key Realty sponsored "Garage Sale Fundraising Event". Worcester Tree Initiative will also have a SPECIAL tree event where people can be trained on how to plant trees, order a tree after their training and pick up their trees on Tues September 14th from 4:30-6:30 place to be determined.
Thursday September 16th 5pm-7pm: Tree Give Away
Duffy Field in Worcester.
Sunday September 19th 3pm-5pm: Train the Trainers (please register by emailing Ruth at ruth@treeworcester.org) Class will be canceled if not enough people register.
September 20th-24th: School Planting Week
Saturday September 25th 10am-5pm: Main South Celebrates
Saturday October 2nd 10am-12pm: Tree Give Away
Saturday October 16th 10am-12pm: Peace Park Planting
Wednesday October 20th 4pm-6pm: Tree Give Away
Saturday October 23rd 10am-12pm: Quinsigamond Community College Planting with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
In the Spring of 2010 we: *Gave away 250 FREE trees to residents who planted them in their yards.
*Trained over 600 people on the proper way to plant and care for a tree.
*Engaged 2600 school students who planted trees in their schoolyards.
*Certified ten specialized "tree trainers".
*Planted 300 trees with 13 schools and community groups.
*Displayed at various festivals and community events. 
In our first year, 2009 we:
*Gave away 1500 FREE trees to residents who planted them in their yards
*Trained 1200 people on the proper way to plant and care for a tree
*Engaged 500 school students who planted trees in their schoolyards
*Certified a dozen "tree trainers"
*Planted 165 trees at 18 schools and community centers
*Distributed over 1500 guides on how to plant a tree
*Presented at public meetings and a statewide conference
*Displayed at festivals and community events
