The first featured tree of the week is the tulip tree! It can grow 80-150 ft tall. These trees are well known for their leaves' shape and the vibrant yellow flowers. The leaves and flowers are unique because they are tulip shaped. The tulip tree prefers moist rich soils. In the fall the leaves turn yellow. Tulip trees were historically used for canoes because they are light and are able to float well.
